Boy Sets Fire (RIP)

From boysetsfire.org

Announcement

dear friends,
it is not with a heavy heart that we write these words but with a head held high. we wanted to collectively inform you that BOYSETSFIRE has decided to retire.
thank you all for your support and belief in us over the last 12
years…please know it meant the world to us.

BOYSETSFIRE for us was always a vehicle for changing the world and we
believe that change comes about by starting with yourself, so instead
of awaiting certain things to come our way, as always we decided to
take our destiny in our own hands.
we’re not sure which path each of us will take from here on out, but
we plan to continue following our dreams…
we will play all the shows of our upcoming european tour (dates posted
below) and possibly one or two last shows on the east coast sometime
this fall (we will keep you posted on this)
good-night,
BSF

Now, as much as many other people hate them, i loved BSF, and saw them like 10+ times, but they did start to disappoint me in the recent years.

Bricktown, hell YEAH!

The Clayton party was a success. Keith’s parents moved more inland to a amazing house on the Metedeconk River. It’s a party house and we had a great party. Good food, great beer, good conversations, good fun with friends. Now it’s back to work tomorrow.

The Draft < Hot Water Music

The Draft, ex- Hot Water Music is not nearly as good. They sound like what was going to end up happening to Hot Water Music if they stayed together, so in some ways i am happy they parted ways. “Live your heart and never follow.” The Draft’s new album In a Millian Pieces comes out sometime soon. In the meantime, it’s time to listen to Gameface and Propagandhi.

Chuck now has a myspace page for his solo stuff!!

MediaCube

When i move, i am going to construct a MediaCube. It’s going to be a G4 450MHz Cube with lots of Rams. I am going to use the iMic and the TVator to push out audio and video to my television and stereo. From there, i’m going to hook up some Firewire drives and use it for all my television show / movie needs. Music will remain on my Quicksilver, but will stream to the MediaCube. Should be fun and my goal is to have it ready for the annual helloween party, but this time it’s going to be at my Condo. Be prepared for that ladies and gentlemen. We’re going to do it up, Garfiéld style! So, yeah, mark your calendars.

Jack Warden dead at 85

Dimmy told me about this earlier today. Jack Warden, an Emmy-winning and Academy Award-nominated actor who played gruff cops, coaches and soldiers in a career that spanned five decades, has died. He was 85. He was nominated for his role as a businessman in 1975’s “Shampoo” and the good-hearted football trainer in 1978’s “Heaven Can Wait.” He probably should have gotten an Emmy for his role in “Dirty Work” also. It is one of the all time classics.

Warped Tour Massacre

Mortal Kombat punkrock style. I just got my ass kicked as Geoff. It would be even cooler if you could fight at the Melody Bar or at 331 Somerset, but that won’t happen.

Grissom’s an asshole

According to Dimeck’s father, Gil Grissom on Law and Order: CSI is an asshole. I may agree on occaison, but i can NOT stop watching CSI, Criminal Intent, Special Victims Unit and all the spinoffs of CSI. It’s just like drugs, but not illegal and healthier for me.

I’m wondering, who would win in a fight, Grissom, Detective Goren or Detective Munch? I go with Goren. He was in The Cell, Belzer’s old and Grissom’s just too caught up figuring everything out that he’d just get knocked out.

Well, time to watch Clerks, in preperation for Clerks 2.
