So this girl from Wyckoff is missing. From the 10pm news, it seems like it’s the boyfriends fault. The mother said, the boyfriend doesn’t belong is Wyckoff because he’s hispanic. Understandably she’s upset cause her daughter is missing, but being racist is not going to help. Especially when the girl was last scene in Paterson.
Well, either way, If you see her, contact the cops.

Greg Attonito from The Bouncing Souls is recording solo stuff. The Rage Against The Machine/Wu Tang shows are even crazier than I previously thought. Chris Chasse from Rise Against and even better Reach The Sky has a solo project. The Fire Still Burns is going to be playing a New Bruns basement show soon. Check here for more info when it’s available.
There’s probably more, so go check out readjunk.com

Last night, some friends and I attended 4 tapings of World Series of Pop Culture hosted by Pat Kiernan. While it was fun to attend the taping, it was long and tiring sitting for close to 5 hour on semi-hard chairs. There were prize giveaways, but much to our community dismays, we did not win anything.
I do not want to give anything away…
The team names were mostly creative and funny minus a few. We did, while waiting on line, see last years champions, El Chupacabre!
The show will air sometime in the spring, so stay tuned.

Next week marks the anniversary of the Heaven’s Gate cult suicide. Read more from boingboing.
Sure, no problem kind sir. God bless. Where do you live sir? …. OK, no problem, we can have someone out there in a month to pick it up. I don’t think I’ll be home during that morning. If you aren’t going to be home, please just leave it in a location where it can easily be picked up….
So Dave came over to help me bring the perfectly good ikea w/ custom slip covered cushions outside with a little help from a tacobell bribe. We brought it out and it was all good.
I got a call today from the condo prez. She said, Salvation Army drove down the hill into the complex, saw the couch, didn’t even get out, and pulled away. I proceeded to call Salvo’s. Their 973- number apparently was disconnected and their 800- numbers didn’t take me to the knuckle-head operator that I spoke to 4 times yesterday in an effort to verify the pickup of aforementioned couch. After 20 minutes of strugling to reach the Army, i got through to the knuckle-head and the dispatcher dude who called the driver. The driver said over the radio… “The cushions weren’t even da right ones for da couch, yo.” Mr. Dispatcher relayed the loud and clear message to me to which I asked if he ever heard of slip covers. His reply was more of a wookie cough of confusion and said he was sorry sir.
So, now I’m stuck with a couch outside, sort of taking up unused car port space. I called a few other charities/donation places/thrift stores to no avail. I heard someone may want it from work and if not, it will be going out to the trash tomorrow after work.
Moral of the story is that the Salvation Army has some nerve. I shop at thrift stores, especially the one in Paterson where Mr. Driver’s works out of. Their furniture is not the best and some truck driver who doesn’t know what a slip cover is decided it was not in his best interest to pick it up.
For Christ’s sake and the salvation army’s all about god, take the couch. It’s a DONATION!!
PS- This will not deter me from buying shirts from Salvo’s, just donating furniture.
PPS-ANY ONE WANT AN IKEA COUCH/BED?

My father’s birthday would have been today. It upsets me, but I am thankful for my family and friends who are still here. RIP.

I was emailed this from a friend and now it’s everywhere. It’s the coolest thing in snailmailing since they started staying open late to accommodate people who work.
From the gothamist…
Take this as your dose of levity for the day: As part of a big Star Wars stamp roll out for the film’s 30th anniversary, the US Postal Service will have some mailboxes across the country wrapped with R2D2 decals.
The mailboxes will be in 200 cities, and New York City is getting a few. The locations mentioned in the Daily News are 43rd and Broadway, 58th and Fifth Avenue, and 33rd and Seventh Avenue. And for Star Wars fans, remember that tampering with a mailbox is a federal offense.
The USPS has a USPS Jedi Master website that teases a March 28 announcement. According to The Force, the designs will be announced on the 28th, and the stamps will go on sale May 25. Which makes us wonder if any engaged Star Wars geeks will rearrange their invitation mailing plans to work with the Star Wars stamp release.
See the trailer from the USPS here. Maybe i’ll use mailboxes instead of waiting on the redunkulous lines with The King.
It’s snowing and it’s March. Fun!
So far, I got 11 of 12 picks so far correct. Duke, you failed me!!! Go GATORS!!! The Hook Nose’s have 10 bucks riding on this and I want to be the top of the charts for the yahoo fantasy tournament.
