Morrissey’s touring! So is Elvis Costello!!! And Travis from the d-plan’s got a new record coming out, but then again so does Chuck Ragan. Maybe he knows something about this new project from some California punkrockers. Speaking of hot indierocker girls, MUSHAAAAbooooooom! This sounds like a fun party, too bad i’m in jersey. Did you hear that Christina Aguhoweveryouspellitlera is going to be on CSI:NY. Booooo. Tori had her baby. I hope Steve Sanders’ not the father, he’s too busy dancing with the stars. I can’t believe this guy’s still alive. Jim wants money. Also, threadless is still having their sale. Finally, happy anniversary Fox.

Tell ‘em Gary said it’s okay OR The Atlantic City Beer Festival weekend

atlantic city beer festival

Friday the weekend officially started… The weekend of booze and friends and some gambling too. After the bus/train situation was straightened out dimmy and I picked up the randomhousers from the 07070 we headed to grab some food at the tick tock diner. We ate and laughed and started the journey to Atlantic City.

Live your heart everyday, because you just don’t know

This month has been especially tough for me. It not only marks the birth of my biological father Steven Mark Wyden, but my cousin Kenny passed away a few weeks back and sadly, my uncle Ivan just passed away this weekend. He was probably the most caring, generous, opinionatedly funny and unrelentingly loving man. He would do whatever it took to provide for his family and not just in toys and gifts but in support and thoughts. It makes me very upset that I could not attend the funeral in South Florida today. Fortunately my aunt and grandmother were able to attend and i spoke to them and my cousin Adam on the phone earlier.

Recently I’ve come to the decision that I need to know more about my family and the roots of where we come from. Adam told me while I was visiting about a family tree and I think it’s a great idea. I want to help and be as involved as possible.

My uncle did not have to live in Jersey with the rest of us to be with us. He was my grandfather’s brother, but different in a way that is hard to explain. He was loud and funny, always trying to do something to put a smile on your face. He was always there for important events and always knew what going on in our lives from my grandparents. I will miss him, but I know he is with his brother, my grandpa Dick and my father doing what they do best…

LOVE

PowerSchool: The first few week in review

PowerSchool is live at work now. Well, not that we are fully using it, but we are starting the data validation process and the group/user setup. PS has some buggy/quiky things to it, so it takes some time to get used to, but overall I LOVE it.

It’s a pretty simple, intuitive interface, user friendly search fields and mostly everything is in logical spots. Like everything apple ?, there are more than one way to get to the same spot. we are working with a great consultant who is really helpful and knows his stuff inside and out. his custom screens are perfecto and i’m learned quickly how to manage and modify them in a few simple steps.

PS has some things i’d change, but again, i’m not a programmer, so hopefully one day. So, if you’re district is in the market for a new student information system, check it out.

it’s very very very tech friendly.

Dismemberment Plan Reunite for Robbins Benefit!

According to pitchforkmedia.com

Someone please pinch me. Three and a half years after their voluntary break-up, the mighty Dismemberment Plan will reunite for a show at the Black Cat in Washington, D.C.

On April 28, the band will take the stage alongside Beauty Pill and Owls and Crows to play a benefit for Callum Robbins, the son of J. and Janet who suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Tickets to the show cost $15, and all of the proceeds will go directly to the Robbins family. Special thanks to an on-the-ball reader for the tip!

No additional reunion activity is planned at this time, but we have all our fingers and toes crossed.

In other D-Plan related news, frontman Travis Morrison is still readying an album with his Hellfighters, titled All Y’all, for an April release. In the meantime, he reports via a website update that he has joined the Washington National Cathedral choir and is enjoying the opportunity to eat brunch early on Sundays.
