Saturday Recap

After going for a bike ride on the first beautiful day in a while, I had some beers and the next thing I know it’s 8PM. Dim and I headed to Jersey City to meet Forrest and his friend Brendan. We ended up going to The Iron Monkey. A three-floor bar complete with roof access. They had some bands playing, but we stayed downstairs on first floor. They have a great beer selection, including, but not limited to, Rogue Dead Guy and Victory’s Hop Devil. So, I got my IPA on, obviously.

The bar is organic and undefined in the design. It’s all iron and metal with free form shapes everywhere. Artsy and dark, but with the cleanest and nicer bar bathroom I’ve ever seen. Bartenders where nice and it’s not expensive.

We managed to get back to my house much faster than we got there, which was very niiiiice. I’m very glad I got to hang out with those dudes, especially Forrest. We’ll have to do it again soon.

Spam Mail/FIshing Attempts

In the last few days, I’ve gotten the usual spam, fishing attempts, but two really stood out. I got an email from paypals.com and bancofamerican.com saying my account was comprimused, but it was sent to the email address I do NOT use with BOA. Good luck & I hope you guys get caught and go federal pound me in the ass prison.

Yeah Morris County!

So, Dim and I met Dave and Clare in Denville last night before heading to a few spots. The toothless bar in Boonton called Johnny’s. Cheap beer, but the lights were ON and really bright. It was early so there had to be are reason, I assumed, but didn’t bother inquiring. Then to The Exchange (Rockaway) where they had a cover band and it was OK, but Tavern On The Rocks is my favorite MC bar so far. I’ve been there before and the eye candy was nice. The beer was cheapish and the time was had and the time was enjoyable. It’s Nice! Wah Wah Wee Wah.

Time to relax some more. Don’t forget, The Loop Lounge Flee Market is tomorrow. Tonight, however, time to hang out with Forrest in JC~!

The Loop Lounge Flee Market

I’ll have a table, come on down and take a look. I’ll have old band shirts, maybe some stickers, cds, movies and record bowls.

Lodi Recap & Welcome

Corner of Arnot & Dell Glen in Lodi NJ

Welcome to my new readers who want to see some Lodi information. It seems like Vista Garden Apartments on Bel Vista Court is sort of better. The river is flowing downstream, not onto the complex. There is massive damage to the complex. There is water in every basement. The basements do not house people, so that’s a good thing. However, the floors above the basement sustained water damage. Lauren’s neighbors said there carpets were wet and some of their belongings are ruined. When I was helping her get back in yesterday, people were moving out and it was a mess. The parking lot is covered in debris and garbage and MUD, lots of MUD! Cars were totally submerged, there were couches floating around and who knows what else. Sewage and river water were mixing together, so be careful.

My other friends, I believe, are back in, well at least some of them. Hope to know more, but it’s messy as shit. I put a bunch of pictures right here. Take a look.

Sign of the Times

Since this is post #300, I decided to be a little witty. This weather sucks, it’s April and the climate has completely shifted. It’s called Global Warming. I am sorry to say that I contribute to this daily, by driving, but at least I recycle and don’t eat meat. We need to stop this global warming stuff because if this noreaster is any indication of the future, we might all be fucked.

I never thought about the universe, it made me feel small
Never thought about the problems of this planet at all
Global warming, radio-active sites
Imperialistic wrongs and animal rights!

Weekend Recap on this rainy Sunday

Friday: Clash Bar to see The Smith’s cover band. They were good and really played the part really well. Hung out with Monica and Mike, Dave, Dim, Lauren and Sheindel met us.

Saturday: Consulting Gig, Ping Pong, Veggie Heaven Teaneck, Bowling, The Shannon Rose. Consulting was fun, Ping Pong at Ed’s was awesome. I’m so good, well for a sport, I’m good and probably better than my friends. Veggie Heaven was awesome, as usual, and I had something new! It was okra, beef, chicken and more veggies in a curry sauce in a hot pot. Bowling was fun, Good amount of people and fun was had by all. The Shannon Rose is a wannabe Irish pub but the north jersey meatheads make it a meathead bar. There were fights, slutty girls, cover band playing pop hits and more AX and bling around necks than the GSP. Hung out with Lauren, Dim, Dave, Meg, John, Eileen, Ed, Steve and met some Doctors and Claire later.

Sunday: It’s been pouring all freakin day. I was at Lauren’s and I had to move our cars since they were under water again. Her’s was almost into the door. I got her car out of there no problem. Mine wasn’t under water, but i tried to drive through the water and killed the engine. Finally, I got it out and now the engine and oil lights are on. I probably be OK. Now, I’m home and I have a crack in my bedroom window frame. That seems to be better now. Knock and wood frame, so I hope I’ll be fine. Well, no more rain in my condo. Lauren got a call that her place was under voluntary evacuation. There shouldn’t be a voluntary or involuntary. It should be get out or stay. At any point of the day, you can leave you’re own home. Just something to think about. So, we headed over there to get the cats because they were going to be living with me for a week when she’s in Italy* and to get clothes, etc so she can crash here and go to work from here. This reminds me of the last time there was rain and we both had to evacuate. That time it was NOT voluntary. Adam saved the day that time. So, we arrived back in Lodi, the flood capital of Bergen County. Firefighters galore and rumor of a rescue boat on the washed over parking lot. I dropped Lauren at the top of the entrance way and she jumped through the water, ankle high at that point, to get to her apartment. I parked across the street and ran over to help. I got there and it was a little higher. The people who live next to the Hackensack River, at the end of the complex where completely flooded in. The river was ONE foot deep and the basements of the complex where, in my guesstimation, soaked. Of course, someone, in a haste to get inside forgot her phone and I ran back out to get it. Some of our other friends where evacuating the complex and we wanted to see if they were OK and where they were going, blah, etc. The water rose a few more inches in the time it took me to get back to the apartment. Packed up, a few more phone calls, etc and headed back to safety. We reached the part of the walkway where the water started to get deep and it literally came up to my knees, no lie. We made it through and got into our respective cars and headed to semi-flooded Garfield. We left the cats for tomorrow, because it’s easier. Especially since I received the best phone call of all day. No School Tomorrow! So now we are dry and Lauren’s sleeping. I can’t wait to see the damage tomorrow to the parking lot. It’s sort of funny because after the aforementioned storm when we stayed at Adam’s house, Vista Garden’s paved and reworked the lot so there wouldn’t be such massive floodings and the drainage systems would work better. I knew it was bound to fail and it did. I know the river is in the backyard of the complex, but still.

On the way from Lodi to Garfield, Lauren went up Arnot which was good and the streets where open. I tried to go another way across main street and onto passaic street. The bridge was flooded over I had to go all the way down Main. There was minor flooding on Main, but 7-11 and Twin Peaks gogo bar was still open, in case you want boobs and smokes/slurpees.

I’m keeping one ear open and I’m readying myself in case the water seeps into my window again, but I think I figured it out and will buy the proper patching products tomorrow.

So that was my weekend. Anyone else’s weekend as fun?

Worked Up So Sexual

May 27 - New York, NY @ Motherfucker - Webster Hall (NO Presale)

Passing Out

I’m not sure why, but when it comes time to go get blood drawn or a medical procedure, I start to get woozy and lightheaded and almost faint. I have done this in the past, never this, luckily, but there’s still time. The nice nurses and medical staff were able to save me from near death and bring me cookies and Hi-C. Ice cold, Hi-C, I might add.

But yes, I don’t like the feeling of fainting and being numb. I went to get a birth mark removed and tested from my head. Not a big deal and unlike last time, I loaded up on drinks today. No, not the adult kind, water and tea, sillies. Maybe it’s psychosomatic, but nonetheless, I’m alive and doing fine.*

Perhaps, I’m allergic to the numbing medicine the Doc gave me? Mayhaps, I’m a wimp. Either way, why don’t I pass out when getting tattoos?

Can’t wait for the slight headache to subside, sleep will cure that ailment, however.
